Have you killed a 570? (No recent deaths, buy some 570s!) - Page 123

With all these component deaths, I really hope manufacturers recycle products to a very high extent (materials, components, etc). In my opinion it would be a capital punishment type of offence to just dump these cards. Too many precious resources.

The revised PCB looks like it has more VRMs although I'm not sure. The revised PCB is used on cards like the EVGA GTX 570 HD, Gigabyte GTX 570 OC rev 2, it's shorter than the original PCB (9.5 inches IIRC) and has the PCI-e connectors facing the back of the card rather than the top.

Did someone replaced MOSFET?
I bought this one in case RMA do not accept the card.

My dead card
http://s1125.photobucket.com/albums/l597/sethzinho/

First the vapour chamber blew up
Then I bought a Arctic Accelero and the VRM is gone.

I'm in a bad luck here... doh.gif

User: 6u4rdi4n
Core Voltage: at time of death, stock 0.975 / 1.075
Clocks: stock / 900/1800/2000
OCP/Power limit disabled: (Y/N) No
Load Temperature: 67(highest Ive had)
VRM Cooling: No
What you were doing: Running OCCT

This was a Zotac card with reference cooler. Wierd thing was, I was running OCCT to test the stabillity of the clock, which worked fine under BF3 which to me has been harder to get the clocks stable for than a stresstest, when the driver crashed. I then put the card back to stock clocks and went for a OCCT stresstest to check the temps etc, when my computer just shut down. I got it to boot a couple of times, but it would shut down instantly whenever trying to run OCCT test. After a couple of tries, my computer wouldn't boot with the card anymore.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
