Have you killed a 570? (No recent deaths, buy some 570s!) - Page 33

Core Voltage: 1.1
Clocks: 900/1800/2100
OCP/Power limit disabled: No
Load Temperature: ??
VRM Cooling: ?? was an evga with stock cooling
What you were doing: benching cryostasis

Card originally ran fine at 900/1800/2000 with 1.1 vcore, it just ran hot at 85c. The thing that killed the card was uping the memory to 2100. Which ran into an endless cycle of restarting the computer.

Thats exactly what happened to mine dude, except I was running OCCT.

The AXP keeps core cool, but that burning you smelt is the VRM's burning.

The next time I stressed my card fully after that smell.......... = POP

I fear for yor cards VRM's dude

For the average user it's a fine card, but if you're looking to push this card it will push back and kill itself.

No, they have stronger power systems. The non-reference 570s do also, like the Palit GTX 570 Sonic Platinum with six GPU phases and two RAM phases.

The reference four-phase power design just isn't enough, which is why the failures are happening when overclocked and stressed.

Is it just me, or every GTX 4xx card I've had from an "Eastern" brand (Zotac, Inno) have been really good overclockers with great VIDs.. where as most EVGA cards for example have really high VIDs.. o_O

One of my Zotac 470s had 0.962, other has 0.95v, the 460 had 0.987 and the Inno 570 had 0.975 or 0.987 too. And the Inno 470 had 0.937v. MADNESS!
