The problem really isn't temperature, it's the VRMs, which Nvidia cheaped out on (though the lower the temperature of the VRMs, the better they should hold up theoretically).

The real problem is current, not temperature though.

Asus 570 DirectCUII has improved VRM's over the reference model.

"Super Alloy Power technology uses special alloy formula in critical power delivery components like chokes, capacitors, POSCAPs and MOSFETs for a 15% performance boost, 35°C cooler operation and 2.5 times longer lifespan when compared to reference designs. "

it's also 6+2 phases.

Haha I also doubt any other 570 runs as cool as this big jumbo tri slot beast of a card. I'm currently OC'd to stable 950 mhz @ 1.13v and under 65c under full load with 50% fan. (Futuremark & Heaven bench temps)

Nope!!! I believe the Gainworld(sp?) model is safe as well. The asus card even ships with the nvidia power limiter disabled.

Yep. I believe Gigabyte's Windforce x3 card is safe as well.

It's only been reference cards and a couple Twin Frozr IIs (same vrms, no cooling) from what I've seen.
