It's not a ridiculously high memory clock. The chips are rated at 5 GHz.

Also I find it hilarious that you think a ~18% overclock is ridiculous. People have been achieving larger overclocks on all sorts of electronic devices almost since the IC was invented.

Also, see my OTHER card that was 2200. That blew as well, as well as myriad of other cards by other owners at stock frequencies.

50,000 views and only 21 reported dead cards. If out of those 50,000 there are more dead cards not being reported, then that is just stupid. Why read the thread and not post if your card is dead? I think the statistics speak for themselves.
Because it is boring to yet add another card. Also, 1000 people viewing this thread 50 times = 50,000 views. I myself had viewed this thread at least 100 times already and I only get about 2 hours a day to do this sort of thing.

I think there is more fear mongering going on than actual dead cards. Just my opinion... I also think trying to run a GTX 570 with memory at 2350 is crazy, especially with stock cooling.
If you've ever studied CMOS devices, you'd understand that devices today are limited by leakage current which is primarily due to voltage, not frequency. Check for yourself, take a video card, use a power monitoring device. Increase it's frequency by 10%, the power consumption does not rise 10%. Increase the voltage by 10%, power consumption increases by over 20%. Wake up, this is not 2001.

Also, you seem to be under the impression that cooling on the memory chips would help the VRMs, please explain how this would help.

Maybe you blew up 2 cards because you didn't know what you were doing.
Never in the history of video cards can you consistently blow up video cards until the GTX570 came along just by running a software program.

Well, we ARE on ocn, arent we? Personally I think it would be pretty boring here if everyone just stayed put on sub 1 volts levels. I mean, why do most companies out there advertise increasing volts to achieve better clocks on the packages these days? If the gpu's themselves can take it, you better make sure that there is enough vrm capacity to not blow up the card at 1.1 voltages or less. Not all of us are reckless "stupid" people who unlock the 1.1v cap and go for insane voltages.

Oh, if you demand picture proof with "names" for destroyed vrm's, you could just as well start demanding extensive proof for all those who claim to have rock stable 24/7 oc's at 850 or more with very low voltage levels. Frankly I just dont believe that half of these "solid" oc's hold up very long against Crysis or other picky games. You dont see ME whine about it though. I guess I just trust people.

Well to show proof of vantage scores there has to be a validation, and with a stable overclock there is also screenshots involved.
And if u are gonna up your volts to get a stable oc then i guess its on you if you destroy your card, and u shouldnt be cryin wolf that a company has put out a defective product.
You know as well as i do how many trolls are on this forum posting inaccurate info,so that was all i was pointing out.

This is becoming a trend lately.

Lets see who can kill more cards. Are you trying to make a point? If so enlighten the rest of us.

Try asking for a 580, see what they say just for giggles.

Well I haven't blown mine up and they are going on 5 months old and have been overclocked/overvolted since day 1.

I guess they are just a poor design. They overclock well, run cool, and run games great. I had better RMA them because some users on a forum had a some bad cards.

And I guess you purposely didn't read where I posted about having two 8800 GT cards die. I then gave those cards away to a friend... and one of them died. That means 3 of my 8800GT cards have died.
