What I don't understand is if it's metered why is there a cap at all? Shouldn't it be "by the gigabyte"?

I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

If you want things changed, take it to your local MP. Signing online petitions will do nothing for your cause.

It should be, yes. Bottom line is they want to cap it so they can impose heavy overages - delicious, delicious overages.

Signing petitions raises awareness and btw someone has taken it to the government. The head of the CRTC has to stand up in the house of commons and explain this retarded regulation.

The government announced this morning that they have given the CRTC an ultimatum. Either they reverse the UBB decision or they will do it for them. We've won for now.

The problem here is that the major ISPs are going right after the money of the end user. They should be asking the resellers for more money or change how data is sold to the resellers. Not going straight to the pockets of me and you.

Then, the resellers could choose to offer unlimited or not. The option would be there at least, instead of the proposed "everyone MUST have caps" idea.

Sorry, ranting again.

Obviously this is 100% because they are scared of netflix and youtube. TV is dying because the internet is obviously a much much better medium. They just trying to cling on as much as they can, and prolong the inevitable.
