HDD vs SSD Question

So im in the final tuning stages of my 2500K build and currently have 2 F3 Spinpoints that I was going to order. Should I drop one of them and add a SSD for just the OS? This is just a gaming rig so dont really need a ton of space. Thank you in advance

Any recommendations on ssd? was looking at the Crucial C300 64gb SSD but I hear the C400 is coming out soon. I dont really plan on upgrading every 6-12 months. So I want my best bang for buck right now

Just get the c300 or a Sandforce drive. (285mbs read, 275mbs write) and you'll be good.

No point in waiting...

I disagree, Im waiting for the price to drop a bit more before I get one.
If you just got to have one right now, the C300 drives are great though.

You'll be waiting for quite awhile then rolleyes.gif

You spend hundreds on your computer and you cannot afford a $100 60gb SSD? Should've done some research brotha

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220511&cm_re=sandforce_ssd-_-20-220-511-_-Product , Looking at this one right now I was checking out the c300 and they just dont have the same write times as this. This thing seems blazing fast. and its only $15 more than the C300.

You dont need write speeds really... You're gaming not transferring giant files to users around your network.

this is only 100 AMIR
and is the same thing as that Patriot, just a different brand

True, thank you. I appreciate the advice. I think I will be adding this to the build and dropping one of the F3's
