Sadly, the Sandy bridge CPU's are pretty useless pieces of expensive of metal and silicone without a decent motherboard. So however good the chips maybe, without a motherboard, they're useless.

The SATA controller degrades over time resulting in bad HDD performance and probably eventually death.
They only mention is 4 & 5 sata slot. so if we use any other sata slot we should be fine right? now we have a motherboard with 6 sata instead of 8 th problem fix

Yes, the 1155 socket chipset, the mainstream platform. The thread title's context is the 1366 CHIPSET as the man's chipset, and the SANDY BRIDGE CHIPSET IS FAIL.

It's mom's computer that's being recalled, not Dad's LGA 1366.

Haha, I'm not one, your point is still stupid however. The chip itself is beast, quit being so butt hurt and try to actually be happy with your equipment without feeling emasculated just because there are other chips that exist besides yours.

better, worse, the same, do you actually care? Yes? I pity you, and all others who makes posts like these.

Just because there was a chipset problem does not mean Sandy Bridge is fail.

And what exactly did you tell us? Did you post somewhere earlier that Intel would recall?

First of all, there's NOTHING wrong with Sandy Bridge's CPU. It's the CHIPSET, not the CPU.

Second of all, it's only the SATA controller.

Third of all, only 15% will experience this in the next 3 years.

Last but not least, it can be solved by using A 10$ PCI CARD.

So, stop acting like this is the death of Intel/Sandy Bridge.
