So what do those users get to do with that awesome chip when they don't have a motherboard?

Sorry, but this recall = FAIL as in the platform was not ready for prime time, and imagine how the guys who put together a RAID 0 on the SATA controller are thinking this is a FAIL. I bet they are.

If you have to have your mobo RECALLED IT IS A FAIL. Get over it.

Kind of funny how a lot of the non-Sandybridge owners are trying to re-affirm their e-peen status.

Shoot I thought since it wasn't the cpu this wasn't a problem.

I wonder how many threads "SandyGate" will spawn.

INB4: anyone else uses that annoying "-Gate" term.

Intel found an error in their chipset. (Sata controller) Apparently, a lot of people, especially AMD users, think the CPU itself is doomed.
So if I understand this right lets say we move an SSD to the 6Gbps Sata ports, the board wont or might become faulty after some time?

I think that some people just want some ammo after it was consistently proved that the new intels massively outperformed the old ones. I don't own sandy bridge at the moment
