I used that, easy as hell, and everything's set for Folding on it, either SMP or Bigadv.
Lol, that's apparently useless to everyone but those using 2600k's and other 8-core (virtual or otherwise) CPUs. I just fired it up on my lappy and it keeps trying to start 8 threads... It's also set to use 4600MB of RAM and won't allow the VM to use any less, so if you only have 4GB of RAM this thing's gonna bog down your system like crazy. Just like it just did to my laptop. These are both easily fixed in the config files, but it's not a real one-click setup for anyone not using an 8-thread capable system. The guy who made this probably has an i7 and set it up like this because it works on his rig.

My plan is to create common disk files for sets of VMs, which will utilize different config files based on cores and memory available. The first step will be blank Ubuntu installs without FAH so everything can be setup to the user's specifications. This has the added benefit of making an easy one-time setup for people who want to use multiple VMs with similar Ubuntu configurations as they can just copy another config file for a different CPU or amount of RAM if they need. Overall, this will be an easy project that'll make folding a lot easier for a lot of people.

Well, you have the option to choose how many threads to use (Cores) and you can choose wether it is for SB, Intel i7, Core 2, or AMD.

Either ways, if you make an easier guide, good then.

What's the PPD right now? Keep in mind you'll have to do SMP Folding until you complete at least 10 WU's so you can qualify for bonuses.

Once you're done with those +10 SMP WU's, you're ready to go for 4GHz and Bigadv!

I'm glad to see you're doing things, didn't expect you to be so dedicated, welcome to the team once again!
Still finishing the setup for bigadv right now.. once this is done I'll get the SMP started any suggestions on the SMP? Should I start right away?

Yes, you should start right away with SMP Folding, Bigadv is pretty much useless as you're not available for bonuses from Bigadv until you do 10 SMP proteins.

Make sure you Fold under the username and passkey (And Team 37726 which stands for Overclock.net) that you gave zodac in that PM.

You can start right now if you want, make sure you're under SMP though.

Also, have you set up HFM yet?

We'd like to add you here;

I haven't set up SMP yet. Finally got the bigadev completely installed and ready along with Ubuntu. Should I run SMP in Linux or through Windows?
If you've already got the VM set up, just take off the -bigadv flag and do SMP in Linux.

The only thing I need to configure now is the client itself. Not sure of the exact settings I need to say yes and no to. Currently at the fetching point (was doing some installing on my lunch break).

EDIT: Do I remove the -bigadev flag from the fah6 script file?

EDIT2: Found which settings Fooled you!

Just do SMP until you complete 10 WU's.

What speed are you at at the moment?

Have you also set HFM?

Currently at 3.8!

HFM I haven't setup. Once I remove the -bigadev flag, I'll setup my HFM, and start with SMP! I actually have some settings ready for 4Ghz, just need to test their stability before using them.

I have no idea how to swap from Bigadv to SMP under Linux, you'll have to ask zodac or someone else about that.
