Alright guys, about to start the OC process that I was too tired to start last night. I'm basically going to be following this guide
. I've picked up a little more information in addition to that around here, but if anybody has any pointers, tips, or adjustments then feel free to let me know.
I'm going to be OCing the CPU first and then also trying to see what if anything my RAM will do. I'm planning on doing short one hour runs of Prime95 blend at first to get an idea of stability at different OCs and settings, and then once I think I'm pretty close to stable I'm going to want to pass a 6 hour prime blend to call it stable. Then the same for the RAM. The GPU will be up and folding the entire time that I'm not in the UEFI BIOS though, and once the CPU does get back folding it will be OC'd more than enough to counteract the downtime it takes to get it OC'd. Once it's up and folding and stable, I'm going to run just SMP windows for a day to check stability there where losing a WU isn't as big of a deal, then do a windows bigadv for a WU or two, and then we'll be looking at doing the VM and bigbigadv. Should be fun!
CPU temps do look to be about 3-4C better after the work I did yesterday.Edited by juano - 9/3/11 at 2:02pm
