but I already have the ram under-clocked @1696 from 1866..... and it boots with 1.45v @ 4.9ghz. I'm just not understanding what you're saying. Change the multi to 50 and the bclk back to 100 while including what you said?

Reread your post, thought you had problems booting. But it's stability, right? Running 1.52V 24/7 isn't something I'd do nor recommend.

It depends what kind of error you get, but still, lowering the RAM even further rule it out for being the culprit and running memtest overnight. Running fast memory you probably want to increase VCCIO, up to 1.15V is what I've seen as safe. A BCLK of 106 also seems high to me, it can cause weird issues. Maybe your CPUs limit is x47 for long term stability?

sorry I guess I didn't proofread before I posted. My issue is getting the ram to run @ 1866 and bringing the bclk back down to 100 and the multi up to 50. If I make those changes it won't boot and I was hoping someone would look at my settings and help me make the changes. What's the average voltage you've been seeing for 5ghz? I'm thinking it may need more voltage....

What is VCCIO and what does it do? I've read about needing to increase it beyond 4.6ghz+ to become stable but I could never boot into windows to check for stability

Also, my Hugeadv will drop in the about 20 hours.

I think you guys missed the point of the story. I kept the same amount of channels, 2. I ALREADY BOUGHT and installed and have been using the NEW RAM for a couple weeks! Just to make sure we're all on the same page...rolleyes.gif

Anyways I'm thinking the OC isn't stable because I added more RAM and am trying to run a higher FSB. I was merely wondering if you guys thought more NB volts would make any difference, sheesh! How n00b u think I iz?

The "more RAM" part is referring to how I already went from 4 GB to 8 GB. This would also make me think I need more volts on the NB since the RAM is already running rated vDIMM.

Nice! A fellow skier! I've always felt the sense of speed is greater when you're going head-on...

VCCIO is the voltage for the IMC, the controller that handles memory. It can be needed to bump that one up to run the mem faster.

On a LGA775 the memory control is in the NB, right? Adding more RAM stresses the controller more, sometimes you need to increase the voltage for it, never played with LGA775 but NB voltage should be what does it.
