Dark Predators - Page 500

core count doesn't have any effect on tpf.

I have noticed a huge disparity between tpf of the old hfm and the new hfm, +/- 30 seconds.

It's fluctuating between 798 and 799, so I'll assume that's about right?
Haha boss man....nice! thumb.gif
That's right yes. 795-805 is the normal range, with 790 for small spikes of a second or two.
Carlos, a corehack of 10 won't get you better WUs than one of 8!
Zodac explained this in IRC once but basically Stanford doesn't check for corecount, as long as you are past the requirement (in your case 8 for 6901) your chance of getting one will not increase (8-12). Same goes for 12+.
Another thing about your high TPF, you're still running smp 8 right? Not smp 10?

Carlos, I needed to install lm-sensors in order to get psensor to work.

Why is your PPD so low?

Lol I guess I should read more of zodac's posts rolleyes.gif Thanks for the info man.

Also, yeah I was running smp 10, just checked. Script was: "./fah6 -smp 10 -bigadv" now it's "./fah6 -smp 8 -bigadv"

Sound right? I think the script called for SMP 6 when I initially followed the guide.

-smp x  flag should always be x= # of physical threads/cores.

Now this will work right! I want to see it after this is done. You tpf will pick back up now.

If we're talking about your 2600k, you want to run ./fah6 -smp 8 -bigadv
That should fix your TPF

Looks like it dropped already! it's down to 5:34 now! smile.gif I OC'd my ram back to 1866, seems like it can handle SMP at that speed but not hugeadv thumb.gif

Thanks everyone for helping me out on this issue!

Thanks everyone for helping me out on this issue!

I ran SMP for almost 6 months on a unstable OC on my 2500K just fine until I switched it to hugeadv..... I wouldn't doubt that you can bump your cpu OC back up to 5.0ghz and get away with it doing SMP.
