Not sure what sort of DRAM driving options you have. I know on my 990FX AMD board there are RAM driving options made to really boost benchmarking performance once your system is stable. If you have some of those options, I'd look into them.

You should look thorough this thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1212613/guide-building-a-2p-4p-from-start-to-finish-along-with-ppd-benchmarks-gallery#
It goes through a few different options.

Supermicro H8QGL-IF+ motherboard = $640.30 wiredzone
AMD Opteron 6272 Interlagos 2.1GHz Socket G34 115W 16-Core Server Processor x4 = $2,000 ebay
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 x4 = $239.96 newegg
CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 (CMPSU-1200AX) 1200W = $279.99 newegg
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus = $107.96 newegg
Total $3268.21

haven't searched for better pricing yet.

If you're worried about heat, you should stay way clear of the IL, 4*8M/16T IL pumps out more than 100W extra compared to a 4*12C MC. And the IL is yet not overclockable (not sure if they ever will be, saw a comment that as they were crap they wouldn't bother with it).

that's the thread I used for most of my choices..... I'm wasn't 100% sure on IL vs MC but was hoping that by the time I do buy all the parts there would be interest in overclocking IL.

I plan on keeping the 4P in my garage which stays a steady 21C, so heat won't be an issue.

Well I ran out of time to try the new settings, I'll attempt your settings tonight. However I discovered something very interesting I'm actually pulling more PPD with tighter timings at 8-8-8-24 @ 1600 than I was at 1866 with 11-11-11-33

I would enclose it in either this: http://www.pugetsystems.com/aquarium-computer.php
or
Wait until I get my geo-thermal cooling setup thumb.gif

Here's a little something of what I was up to biggrin.gif

Took forever to rebuild her.. I had algae in my loop. Must of happened within' the last week or so when I last added water.

Cleaned it out for the most part, loop looks crystal clear. Need to get some PT Nuke just in case.

When I first booted her up she wouldn't budge. No display at all. Tried onboard and nothing. Took the memory and video card out, removed hard drive and I got display! Video card was the problem. Ended up switching to the recovery BIOS which helped give display.

Have to say I wouldn't of bought it if it didn't match my color scheme and wasn't so dirt cheap.

Actually pleasantly surprised over the BIOS. It's pretty simple and clean. Way less settings to adjust than my Crosshair V, but I'm okay with that thumb.gif
