It still will not start, usage doesnt move, clock speed ramps up to 900mhz (stock, no boost) and voltage jumps too. I intend to figure it out tommorow.

See if it will work with the version 2.25 of the Core_15 file. It has an optimization disabled, that is present in the version 2.22, so Kepler GPUs will work. The version 2.22 core causes problems for Kepler cards on some work units.

If your Kepler card is in the same rig as a Fermi, you will need to do a completely separate folding client installation for it if you are wanting/needing them to use different versions of the Core_15.

It works fine with the 2.25.

Problem is, It was working with 2.22, up until around 13% on a 8057. When I went to set up hfm to monitor it while I was at work, Is when the trouble started.

I've also tried pausing the client after a fresh install, loading core 2.22, replacing the gpu.txt, before it download a unit at all, and nothing.

That's what I've been reading but then I've read of several people increasing from .925v to .963v successfully.

I've never messed with one myself, but a friend of mine popped 2 of them.
The RMA was declined on the 2nd one, so he melded a couple of epower boards to it to get it going. I think he managed to get both GPUs to around 925 MHz, but the external VRM boards hanging off the card make the whole setup take up 3 full double wide slots on his motherboard.

For the 580, the difference in ppd, between 900mhz, and 970mhz, is roughly 2k ppd. Its not going to be worth it, to pump those extra mhz out of your card, at the cost of heat, voltage, and of course, the risk of breaking them.

Hows the coil whine on those cards anyhow?
