and the SE 460 is right in the middle of the 768mb and 1gb
Hrm...would you consider that a good enough upgrade from a 260?...:S

Also i read that the gtx 460 is about a 10% increase in performance vs the 260
What games do you play? That can help us give advice.

You will love a new monitor. I went the monitor route awhile back, and love it. Now I'm spoiled looking at other people's puny 22" screens It does "require"(make me want to) me to play at 1980x1200 resolution, but even at that size you should be fine in a lot of games(I'm guessing like Call of Duty or something)--just not maxed. You could even still play at 1680, too.

Im an fps guy, i mainly play css, cod, etc. Although i've been getting more into rts games (sc2, LoL, HoN) But i always try to max out games (16xaa + af because i cannot stand jaggies) and i normally can with 60+ fps...I just would hate to have to set games to medium or anything lower. Although i can't stay on a 1440x900 forever.

It wouldn't kill me to play games at lower than native resolutions right? I'm sure in the 4 years ive been out of the monitor market they've refined that.....hopefully..

I think i'll buy a good monitor now and save for a better video card. Also, how important is it to have an LED backlit monitor?

Would this be a good buy? :

Or should i stick with the acer mentioned before? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009266

Hell if i forget about the video card, i could get an ssd too

Acer or Asus? Between those two monitors go with what you think you like more for stand preference or the cheaper of the two. After you tune the monitor both will give you a great picture and performance for gaming.

I am a fan of both Companies, I have had several Acer and a couple Asus monitors. Asus tends to have a tad better color out of the box though if you hate having to tune settings.
