@OP: No, IMO it's not. However, you never know until you test it out for yourself!

I've got the same CPU, currently only using GPU until I get a new heatsink. However when I was using it a few days ago I was getting 5-6k ppd @ stock frequency

your ppd seems awfully low

Have you started and stopped the client a bunch of times? What project number is it and what's your average time per frame?

8-9 minutes per frame. My dad has turned the computer off a few times, but it doesn't seem to have affected it negatively (At the start of this WU, I had 1500 PPD now I have 2000 PPD).

Project number is 6059. This is my first ever WU on SMP.

well, according to this: http://linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php
When I entered 8:30 for time per frame for 6059, it works out to almost 3800PPD. HFM includes downtime in it's PPD and credit calculations, so it looks like your not doing all that bad for PPD in reality.

But I've heard of people getting upwards of 5k PPD on my CPU. Are you sure its downtime?

No doubt the downtime is playing a small role in it, could also be that work unit is particulary slow.. I only run bigadv so I'm not sure on how the SMP work units compare. You may also have a number of background programs taking away cpu cycles causing it to slow as well. I'd let this one run its course, and see what the next one brings.

With a 6059 I get around 6.5k PPD.

Are you running on all 4 cores or just 3? Is bonus calculation turned on or off right now?
