Thats two different things.
I said I have Vsync off, so it doesn't lock at 60.

Agreed, 60fps is the max you can see due to the displays limitations.

It sounded like you were saying that because you run at 125FPS max now, and that it sometimes drops to 88, that if you were locked at 60FPS as your max due to v-sync, you'd see some drops below 60fps at those places where you now get 88fps. And I was saying 'No'.

If I misunderstood, my bad.

If you are strictly saying that having a GPU that can run games faster than average of 60fps is a benefit, even w/60Hz monitor, then of course I agree ... but there's really no need for a gpu who's MIN is >60fps if you have a 60Hz monitor.

If your minimum FPS unsynced is 88, enabling V-sync would merely lock it to 60. That last sentence is a moot point. If it never goes below 60, locking it isn't going to change that.

Edit: Looks like you got to it before I did. tongue.gif

It takes weeks to learn to accomodate a crappy refresh rate. For a few months in 2008 I was forced from 90 (when my original CRT died) to 60hz and it butchered my ability to aim for quite some time.

The abrupt change from 125 to 60 would be hellish.
