No, Ivy is IVY bridge the newer 22nm chips. Sandy is Sandy Bridge. Im not upgrading my 920 until i see Ivy bridge results.

Honestly OP i would keep your 930 all together. Shoot my 920 can out clock many 950's.

i7 930s ~ i7 950s

If your i7 930 can hit 4.2Ghz easily (with under 1.375Vcore), then there is a good chance the i7 950 will be a worse overclocker.

I would recommend that you wait and get Ivy Bridge, or wait at least a month to get Sandy Bridge.

Hi,

Keep the 930 and wait for Ivy Bridge if have to update.

What you have will handle anything out there and will for quite awhile.
Also not that it means anything, some say it does, But your 930 chip
is a newer released chip than the 950.

Not worth the trouble to go for the 950.
I run 4.4 24/7 with my 930 and now with better cooling don't
see a problem with 5.0.

3.6-4.0 will take care of any software.

JMHO

Later
930-4.4+ on H2O.
With good air 4.2 shouldn't be a problem!
