CPU Water Cooling or CPU fans.. or both?

I am trying to get together parts for my next big gaming machine. I chose a Termaltake Speedo because the HAF X 942 is too big to fit in my desk. The parts are Intel i7 985 Extreme Prossessor (six core) 24Gb Patriot Extreme Memory and a Nvidia EVGA GTX 580 Superclocked video card and a asus rampage III formula motherboard. But my question is which is better. A coolermaster V8 CPU Fan or the Termaltake Big Water cooler. Or is there a way to frankinstien my computer and get both. I got plenty of time before ill have the money to start buying parts for the build so id like to know what everyones oppinions are.

PS. Im new here :3

Neither of those are really good coolers. if you want a water loop, either do a complete custom loop or check out the XSPC Rasa kits. They are MUCH better quality than the thermaltake stuff

If you want a standard simple CPU Cooler, you could look at something like the the dh14, the prolimatech megahalems, corsair h70, or some of the other coolers commonly recommended here.

One question for you, if you are planning on this being a gaming rig, why spend the money on such an expensive CPU and 24GB of ram instead of going for another graphics card or two?

If you just went with 6gb of good ram and an i7 950 you could get tri-SLI GTX 580s and have a much better gaming experience.

Well, i want it to be gaming machine as well as a rendering machine, i have to do a lot of both in my kind of work. So thats why i was thinking about 24 Gigs of memory but i would happly pay a lot for the 6 core proccessor.

Im not sure what you mean by a water loop and i have taken a glance at the h70.
