Planning a new AMD build and i see two options for Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory Double Data Rate Three
either the G skill ripjaws series or the Gskill Ripjaws X series, both same price The X series looks cooler but at least 10000% more people bought the regular ripjaws series. Both have same stats and everything, so which is better. Yes i will OC it somewhat.

i think the x series is rated a lower voltage.

i have ripjaws and if i had it to do all over again i wouldnt buy them.. they oc like complete junk.

I can get my ripjaws (1600 cas 9) to run at 8-9-8-24 @1880mhz... just takes about 1.8 volts.

both do 1600 @ 1.5.

im not going for AMAZING OC performance, maybe 1700 or so. Plus my main reason for getting these is price/performance/quality ratio.

Its all DDR3, i dont think it will ONLY work with that chipset, it was meant as amrketing im sure.

Aim for tighter timings over mhz. My Ripjaws refused to pass 1700 with loose timings but you can see how tight I got my timings in my rig sig.

Value RAM is value RAM, don't expect miracles.

Sig rig is 2600 NB (1.35v) and 1.6v on RAM
