Load Text file from inside HTML?

Im running a website and the body content on the home html file is getting pretty long. I was thinking that maybe I can import content via a more manageable text file but there isn't any html command to import from a text file.

What do you guys usually do to manage extra long webpages? Start a new page? Its more of a church/blog thing.

HTML doesn't have any kind of method to include files. Only server side languages can do that (e.g. PHP, Perl, ASP, SHTML)

But I think you should look into creating categories with links to other pages instead.

(In my head, I'm imagining your website looks like this http://www.jesus-is-savior.com )

Oh hell no. I like the clean look.

I abandoned that HTML request and I am now looking at doing PHP to automatically make new pages after a specific number of posts.

If you're at this point, it's time to start looking for a CMS, such as WordPress. This problem has been solved so many different ways that you probably shouldn't try to reinvent the wheel unless you really really want to.

I use PHP Includes pretty frequently for data that changes. But that requires the server to have PHP, and you have to save all of the files as .php, not .html.

I do almost all of my websites in PHP now, since it's really useful.

Someone mentioned moving to Wordpress. This is a great idea for a "blog" thing.
