Cable Sleeving Comparison! - Page 8

With MDPC-X sleeve going down to .25 cents a foot and FTW-PC's new sleeve (supposedly tighter weave) selling for .29 cents a foot... I don't know whether or not I should go with my original plan to get ordinary paracord :\\ Anyone have any thoughts?
Paracord is still significantly cheaper. So if your budget is pretty tight, I would stick with that. It also depends on the look you are trying to achieve as well. If you are interested in the look of fabric sleeving then the choice is made even easier.

However, if you can expand your budget and aren't looking to sleeve every single cable your PSU offers, then MDPC-X and FTW are comparable, high-quality choices. Considering that you are in PA, I would suggest FTW since you would likely save a bit on shipping costs, while also having faster delivery times (assuming they have all of the colors you are looking for).

Feel free to check out the review I posted in my sig and see if that helps your decision.

just realized something. my hp gaming mouse has a braided cord and I believe its using similar material to paracord. looks exactly the same. downside is since its a mouse theres a lot of movement and theres heavy deterioration at certain chokes in the wire that tend to see more action than the rest.

IDK about the whole paracord isnt UV reactive thing. If I hold a piece of green paracord within 10 feet of my black light, it glows so bright, I would call it nuclear green.

It probably isn't like paracord. My mouse (Coolemaster Storm Sentinel) has cord much more similar to nylon multifilament. Paracord is much more cloth-like.

I don't see any pics of the sleeving going into the connectors.....and that is the money shot IMO.

I have used all of the above, except paracord....anyway even thought Kobra sleeving may be hard to use, it is the only sleeving that will go into the connector with ease....period...a little more work on the front end will result in a much better looking sleeve job.

I will post pics of the Kobra sleeving and close ups of it at the connector (money shot) on request.

Thanks for this, I was debating between Kobra and MDPC-X and this really helped me make my decision. Now if the MDPC-X store was ever open

Flexo PET and CleanCut are made out of the same material, PET, just different size filaments and weaves, does anyone know what MDPC-X is made of?
Is it also PET or something similar? MDPC-X seems to have the best weave and coverage and most people highly rate it, so I will end up with it I think, but just wondering if it is similar to CleanCut (PET) or something else?
I've got some NZXT Premium Cables, which also seem to be PET but a single filament and very loose weave. But they match the color of the cable to the sleeve so it doesn't look that bad.

MDPC is a plastic type material but its the weave that makes the difference. Clean cut is a larger diameter and does not stretch to grip onto the wire so sleeving with it is a little bit of a chore but its still a good cheap choice being it does not let ANY color through.

MDPC-X and FTW is great but paracord is cheap and you can sleeve the smaller 3 pin fan wire/ DDC pump wire
