Will the (Perhaps Over-Exaggerated) Recall of 1155 Mobos Force a Price Drop on 1156?

Thread Starter
Regardless of how overblown this recall may or not be, I was wondering what emergency moves Intel might have to take. Considering the estimates for good boards is now March-April, will Intel have to start re-pushing 1156, as well as drop the price some?

I have no real knowledge of how Intel or the market in general operates, but am curious as to everyone's thoughts.

Very sorry if a similar question has already been asked, I know everyone hates that. It's been quite hard to keep up with all of the Sandy Bridge threads that have been started in the last ~8 hours.

I don't see them pushing 1156. My money says that Intel just tries to power through the issue to a fix at market.

Considering how much Intel's stocks plummeted, I'd imagine they may raise prices after this is done with.

They won't have to push 1156 too hard, there's plenty of them out there. Add in the fact that 1156 is still a darned fine performing socket, especially when paired with the i7 8x0 or i5 760.
And intel's stock will recover very soon, this is just a blip, the market has a very short memory, as soon as they post the next quarterly results and show decent profits it'll be back up.

You can see it dropped off a hefty amount on the graph.

Am I blind for not seeing this article? Or am I blind for not seeing <.25$ as a plummet?
