You can find the power saving options in control panel->power options. Many people just do create a power plan->high performance. This will mean nothing will ever power down, nor will your CPU drop down to lower multipliers when idle.
Persoanlly I leave my power saving options on balanced, I want unused HDDs to spin down, monitors to power off etc. I do adjust it so the computer doesn't automatically sleep after an hour or so though.
