Yep. Change it back to IDE mode, and then do this:

  1. Open the Registry Editor (a good quick way is by opening the Start Menu and typing "registry editor" or "regedit", but you can press Enter before you finish typing, when you get a result populated for "Registry Editor" or "Regedit")
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci
  3. In the right-hand pane, double-click "Start"
  4. Change its value to 0. The default is 3.
  5. Close the Registry Editor
  6. Go back into the BIOS
  7. Change over to AHCI mode
  8. Enjoy. :)
