Of course not. I'd rather get a controller card if it comes to that. Just imagine all that mess with detaching and then reattaching the cooler again, not to mention waiting for a new board and depending on where you live, an hour or more of public transport glory.

I don't think I would bother with replacement if all the ports failed on me. Not worth the hassle.

Nah, I don't need more than 2 sata ports, and 2 are unaffected (6gb/s) on my board. Unless I can do it at the store in which case I would do it.

I have to. I'm already using all 8 of my ports, and I expect to acquire more HDDs soon, and those will go on my already waiting SATA controller PCIe card... so...

But I'm waiting for ASUS' policy on this. If I have to send my board in and then they mail me a replacement, then I'll probably just return the board as faulty after buying an EVGA replacement. This stage in my animation schooling, I can't do without a computer for more than a day or so.

Asus does not do that.

Sure they do, they did it for my last P8P67. They told me as long as it is in stock at the warehouse and you can provide a credit or debit card prior to them processing the RMA that they will do it.

Yes, you just need a credit card to do it. And the high end board it comes with some extra shipping and rma options on those. Got a credit card then it is easy, if not then you will have to do it the old way. Send yours in and wait for a return then.

Yes, 2 of them are boxed up already waiting on the UPS man now. I just built 3 different systems for friends using sandy bridge, and the down side is 2 of those have raid setups that I NEED more then 2 ports for. So I'm sending the Mobo+CPU+Ram back and just going to an I7. I've already spoke with egg about it and they are more then willing to help me out with this. So props to Newegg yet again!

Nope I'll just return this board once the micro atx evga board is released. This was my initial plan so now it works out even better. I can return the board instead of selling it.
