Case Mod Layout/Design

Thread Starter
Greetings all!

Looking to do my first case mod, and was seeing how people plan out their mod. I notice some do Cad/Sketchup layouts, some do hand drawing, but I was wondering is there like any 'chalk/crayon' that you can draw on the case that comes off without damaging the case?

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Classic chalk will work fine, just use a sponge to wipe it off

This. works great when you don't have like a dry erase marker-workarble surface. and like mentioned, it comes off easy.

Dry wipe marker or chalk. A pack of chalk will run you the same price as the dry wipe marker so I'd opt for the marker.

You can also tape a piece of paper where you intend to cut and use that as your outline, but if it's windy or you're not in a garage, this isn't really much of an option.

I'd recommend the dry wipe marker over anything else, while I havn't cut cases open (yet) I have cut sheet metal.

Hope that helps

There is metal marking chalk you can find at a welding welding supply place. There also is grease pencils that write on glass or maybe just use a soft lead pencil.
