how outdated is the iphone 3G? - Page 3

Troll!!!!!

Btw, that overclocking guide doesn't work. None of them do. The one with fstab doesn't have kernel access. It's the placebo effect. Trust me

the other one with deleting a .plist isn't valid either, because they simply runn the cpu @ 4xxmhz all the time. You see, the iphone has a cpu which adjusts speed (similar to intel's speedstep tech.) If you delete the .plist, all it does is disable that speed-stepping. Not a real overclock.

Give you? For free? If that is the case then it's a non question. Free phone = free.

Now if you have to buy it get it cheap. Try to get it for less then $100. Preferably less the $75.

Is the iPhone 3G older? Yes
Is it slower then the new ones? Yes
Is it still an iPhone? Yes

Besides if you don't like it just swap the SIM card back to your BB.

I hope for the sake of humanity (and you) that these posts are sarcasm . . .

Don't mind him he is only a child.

But I would say go for the iPhone 4. Apps and the UI on it runs so smoothly compared to the 3G which will be so buggy and glitchy and laggy feeling if you are running iOS4

Its top of the line if you go by RIM's standards

iPhone 3G can run Android too, which instantly makes it better than the iPhone 4.

If you haven't done it already, make sure you have an adequate data plan. otherwise, get a good one. I didn't have one my first month, and racked up about $65 in internet fees, just from the occasional app. The 3g runs fine, although there's the occasional freeze. Nowhere near the issues the Iphone 4 has though. Best of luck to you

Thread Starter
as bizaare as it sounds, i used the unlockit.co.uk to get my blackberry data plan running on it. the "3g" speeds are actually worse than my blackberrys EDGE network. it might be that i dont have the official 'iphone' plan.

is the short battery life normal? even if i just use it for texting at work, i cant seem to get more than about 12 hours out of it.
