I was originally planning on starting a "case mod store" where powder coating would be our main thing. But after checking it out into greater depth, I decided I will at least wait. I plan on starting some type of case modding website and selling cases occasionally one at a time but not have a stock of them.

The thing that turned me away was the legal part of it. I would need a business license to start with and pay the necessary fees and taxes. Shipping wasn't a main concern for me however I did notice that with larger cases dimensional weight was a problem causing the rate to go up exponentially. I'd have to disagree with you when you say that the powder is expensive. Powder is cheap. (Not that it matters) The prep and time it takes is what's expensive. You say that de-riveting the cases is included in the price but I bet that'll get old after a while. It's nice for you though that you already have a powder coating shop. That'll be a huge part of making this work.

...I'll stop my rant and just wish you good luck now. You can do it, you just need think about a couple things. Way to take away my possible customers in the future LOL.

i enjoy working on cases a lot, and modding them is a huge hobby of mine, it will never get old, plus if i ever do get bored which i highyl doubt, i will have my room mates do it hahaahah just kidding, i dont let anyone touch my work

I'm not saying doing it for fun will get boring. What I'm saying is when you have to do it and are trying to get it done by a certain time, it may not be as fun as it used to be. I'm just talking about the prepping. The actual powder coating won't fail to amuse you

$150 shipped (bothways) is a great price for powder coating a case.

It's 125 and does not include shipping, you would be responsible for paying shipping. If I charged 150 shipped I would make no money for the amount of work that actually goes in

So i just had my cm stacker powdercoated by rushmore.

Honestly the entire experience was perfect. He knows exactly what hes doing, he has an amazing selection of colors, and overall just did a really awesome job.

His price is pretty much unbeatable too.

Honestly, don't hesitate to get your cases done by rushmore.

this is very true. it already looks amazing in the pictures, but honestly when you see it in real life, its jaw dropping.

once i get it all put back together i'll take some pics out in actual sunlight.

WHOA! Really?! Is that what this sort of thing costs in the US? I'm from South Africa, and it costs me the equivalent of about $30 to powder coat an entire case.
