Sandy Bridge: April, Ivy Bridge: ?

Well...my build was essentially complete. I was so excited to be buying everything and then all of a sudden my dreams were shot to hell. Thanks Intel.

According to the many websites I'm sure you've all seen, they won't be back in production until about April.

I'm running a ****ty Dell laptop right now and it overheats every time I open Call of Duty 2 so I'm pretty much in the ****ter as far as a PC goes.

Will Ivy Bridge be worth the wait? Is there an estimated release date as far as Ivy Bridge and Ivy Bridge EE are concerned?

This is truly pathetic...

If I wasn't in dire need of a new PC, there would be nothing holding me back from waiting for Ivy Bridge. Matter of fact, what is the point now with Sandy Bridge being "released" in Q2? Ivy Bridge coming in Q3?

The issue only affects users if they run off the SATA 3Gbps Ports, Just an FYI.

Only thing is you can't buy it anywhere, so the only people who can benefit from this are the people who already own it.

It's a firestorm for sure, but it's really not bad for early SB buyers. They get to use and enjoy their new systems, and will probably never see an issue. then when they fix it, they get a new mobo. I bet many even get z68 boards. That's a free upgrade, what more could you ask for.

FYI, Newegg is NOT the only etailer, and there are plenty boards and chips to be had on other sites.
