lol I didn't reinstall the os why would you? I installed all my drivers chipsets/all downloaded the brand new nvidia driver that just came out recently. I've built over 30 systems and I upgrade a lot and haven't had an issue like this.

that thread is super old and like I said I did not have this problem before the upgrade. I am going to try a rollback maybe that will solve the problem.

With sata drives you do not need to reinstall windows. you simply plug the drive in to your new motherboard and use your current windows and you reinstall all your new drivers. done! been doing this for years.

Possible SATAII degradation, if you did not hear already Intel is recalling all P67 chipset motherboards shipped after the 9th of January. Lucky for me I was dumb enough to plug in my main 640GB into a 6GBPS port just for the hell of it. So OP, where are your main drives running BC2 on? SATAII by chance?

I'll ask again, during the sporadic drops to 30fps that last? do you have a drop in cpu core speed and utilization along with gpu usage?

You are monitoring system usage then after the dips alt-tabbing out to see what usage was what right?

And fresh install isn't a bad idea. Usually I cary my HD's over too but on this one it wouldn't even boot(well I shouldn't say it wouldn't boot, but it would be sporadic and sluggish) until I did a reinstall of windows, btw I'm on Win7 Pro 64-bit for my SB rig.

Edit: about the HD, which do you have BF:BC2 installed on? Is it the OS drive?(kinda assuming the SSD is OS drive)

I had resource monitor up and nothing was unusual. I also have windows 7 64 bit and it is about 5 months old install. I've always carried everything back over with no issues what so ever. If i did have a boot up problem i'd reedit the bcd. A reformat is the last thing I want to do. I do have an image anyways and I keep my os partitioned. Could just be a driver/nvidia control panel issue. I ran left 4 dead 2 max settings with vsync off and it ran 200+ frames.
