So someone learn me on SSD and Sata 6 please

When my bios boots it says my G.Skill is running at Sata 3 speed. Its hooked up to a Sata 6 connection through. My problem is if I plan on going to a Raid set up wouldnt I technically peak out the connection transfer rate and limit performance?

Is there something I need to do to get the drive to run on SATA 6?

is your ssd sata 6 speed and what about your cable? when doing raid it will use the same speed only difference is a file is broken and copied to two different hard drives making it faster to access. I hope you got the drift

That model of SSD is not rated as Sata 6, market is still cold on them, Crucial has the C300 series and Corsair that a truly rated for Sata 6 use.

Cable...yes, drive...not sure. Never have seen a yes or no on if it was. I see what youre saying.

So if you run a Raid set up on 2 drives Sata 3 they are each running at designated speeds seperatly which is under the capped bandwith? Basically splitting up the data as you said?

The cable is irrelevant. "SATA 6GB/s" cables are no different to your regular SATA cables. It's just marketing hype

Also, please link to the Corsair 6GB/s drive because it doesn't exist in this dimension

Yes. i know it sucks but like someone said above there is still no sata 6 ssd. if you want more speed maybe pci ssd would be great, but thats a whole new story and mind you if you are using ssd on raid i don't think trim work, i might be wrong.

I stand corrected and apologise. They snuck up on me. I searched for Corsair SATA 6GB/s and got no hits. The other thing that threw me was that there have been so many people here calling Crucial Corsair. Again I'm sorry and thanks for the link.
