You have to look at this with a grain of salt.
If this is big enough issue that all retailers stopped the sale of sandy bridge items why should I as an end user not be concerned? In a year when i try to sell my motherboard that was not replaced in this recall will I be able to get top $? Or will I take a loss?

Sure it may not affect everyone but it warranted all retailers pulling the product from retail Sales.

I will be asking for a replacement when the time comes.

like i said it is not happening in the uk the retailers here are simply including disclaimers with the boards saying if anything happens you get a brand new board or refund, To me this is a better idea than pulling the plug on hundreds of thousands of boards?

just my two pence worth

I'd be fuming just because of having to disassemble, send off and be without my pc for god knows how long. Or are they going to send you replacement boards without you having to send yours back first?

That's going to be done entirely at the board manufacturer's discretion. I'm hoping ASUS will give replacements, then we can send the faulty ones back, but if I have to send the one I have in before they ship me a replacement, then eff 'em, I'm just gonna jump to EVGA then return the faulty one for a refund.

Yuo can't buy the CPUs anymore because now nobody sells boards they go into. I think that's because the people who sell them here realize that not everyone is... very smart. I mean we've even had people here, on OCN of all places, asking if they can use 1155 CPUs in 1366 boards. Newegg and the like are just insulating themselves from idiot backlash.

Seems pointless to me. Sell faulty boards, then you gotta refund 'em when they die. What's the point?

yea newegg is really not helping, by pulling the CPU off their site which HAS ZERO relation to the problem announced by intel. This move makes all the "nubs" think there is something wrong with the SB CPU along with the motherboard which is semi accurate.

Thank God NCIX is not making Canadian idiots think that CPU has a design problem.
