My pc just turned itself on - Page 3

It turned itself on ?!

whoa its that sexy huh?

I keed! Umm I used to have some setting in my BIOS that would let me turn it on from an Infra red/wireless source (maybe it was windows. I forgot). And whenever a cell phone/controller was used nearby it would turn on. I used to happen a lot more when I had a wireless card inside, plus i got all these wireless gadgets hooked up to it. So check for that too

So... You are sure that your house is not haunted or anything? Sometimes poltergeists appear when you least expect them, even though your home seems to be pure.

I suggest you call a gypsy or something to check the house for paranormal activity. It's really a problem when they move from computers to other household appliances, as stoves etc thus causing fires.

Also, try to find a number of some exorcist to have close to you in case the the thing haunting you gets mad at you.

You have been warned.

Check if your refrigerator is on when the computer wakes up. It pops the speakers and dims the light in my room... it's the most noticeable power event in the house. I also have had multiple systems just wake up from S3 in various places around the house.

Never been able to prove it but it's all I can think of...

My computer never wakes randomly, and my lights dim if you even turn the toaster on.

Dead serious about that, I know my toast is done in the morning when my lights get brighter again :l.

Is your power loss setting on last state, off or on? It happens on an AM2 and 775 system in different rooms for me. Both last state, which I suppose is understood in S3 state as "on".

Power setting is just for On after power failure, since I used the PSU in lieu of a power switch.
