Need recommendation on a new Gaming/Movie LCD

Hi, I currently have the BenQ G2411HD, it served its purpose, however I cant help but think there are much better LCD's out there for cheap too when it comes to Gaming Performance and Image quality.

The colours on this monitor are not that great, I would say at times quite horrible, I see my friends Asus monitor(sorry not sure of model) and I feel kind of sad seeing the quality and then going home to mine

I was thinking of the Alienware OptXâ„¢ AW2310 23", I don't care much about the 3D even though I might in the future.

What I seem to get from everyone is 120HZ is just better all round for gaming,I'm also looking at the BenQ 120HZ monitor and like it but $500(AUD) is kind of expensive.

Sorry for the long post, pretty much if anyone can recommend me a high quality monitor for gaming and watching movies, with good response time.

It does not have to be 120HZ, It can be 24"-27", Reason I'm still not decided on Alienware is the 23" size.

Kind of hard to go to a smaller sized screen even if the benefits of 120HZ outweigh the loss of 1".

Thanks guys.(sorry again for the long post)

24 inches of 200 USD goodness(unsure of conversion and availability)

ASUS monitors have definitely played out well for me

I'm using three of those currently. Yes they are TN panels and not 120hz, but I don't do stuff like photography so I can't see a difference besides the bloated price tags for IPS etc. They are versatile monitors with lots of options as to what you can connect to them. It's 25.5" @ 1920x1200, which provides a nice balance of screen size and pixel density. I really love them, to be honest.

120hz monitors are overrated in my opinion because the human eye has a hard time noticing anything above 60fps. You'll notice it in some rare situations (when I see a car crash on my 120hz tv, I notice the difference) but in the end it's really not worth the price you'll end up footing for it. For now stick with 60hz, but that's just me. I don't know how hard your wallet is to fold

Thanks guys here it is:

The ASUS VW266H...I can get the 120HZ monitors for nearly the same price here in Australia and the Alienware 120MHZ monitor I mentioned is around $60 cheaper.

Price: $401-$460(New egg is probably cheaper to order through PriceUSA to ship to Australia, however out of stock.

ASUS VW246H on the other hand is $240 here in Australia, so no point in getting it from new egg+PriceUSA.

So is the ASUS VW246H going to be a big improvement over my Monitor?

the colors on the ASUS monitors are crisp and beautiful, the VW246H is a wonderful model, will for sure be more vivid and with a 2 ms response time it should be perfect
