Hello All ,

I wanted to share with you all my thoughts and questions regarding the new computer that i want to build.

i will use some of my current hardware that i have like:"

1. GPU- zotac gtx 260
power supply- Seasonic 500 W +80

Hard drives- 500 gb westren digital black sata 2

Case - NZXT Lexa Blackline

Now for the hardware that i want to buy:

1. CPU- Core I7 2600k
Motherboard- i thought of P8P67 Deluxe s1155 Core i3/i5/i7, Intel P67, DDR3 1600, 3xPCI-E , any comments on that?
Memory- what is the best memory for overclocking?
CPU- Cooler - what is the best one?
Thermal - what is the best thermal for this socket?

thanks

for heavy gaming you dont need i7-2600k and asus p67 deluxe

all you need is Asus P67 Pro . i5-2500k , 4-8GB 1600 Mhz ram , some 30-40$ CPU cooler ( u dont realy need the best cpu cooler for sandy bridge since they overclock very easy and on low temps\\voltages up to 4.8Ghz)
and maybe put the saved money into a new video card\\power supply
like gtx 460\\HD 6850 and a 650w+ psu from Corsair\\Seasonic\\Antec\\XFX

1. If you have an i5/i7, I would forget the new build and just get an HD 6950 or two.
2. I am not sure which Seasonic 500w you have, but you will need a better PSU if you're upgrading your graphics card. And you might just need a better one for 2600k.
3. Unless you barely use the space, get a 2TB. They're under 100$ these days and well future-proof.

1. If you're on a budget, like it says in my sig, 2500k is just for you. Gaming-wise, it won't be any slower.
2. Look in my sig for which motherboard you should get. But they're all the same if you're not overclocking to 5.0Ghz and want triple-SLi. And you're not, so 3xPCIe is useless. Don't worry about the RAM support.
3. It really doesn't matter. Just make sure it's 8GB.
4. All the high-end coolers are about the same for Sandy Bridge. Just pick one (TRUE, Arrow, NH-14, etc.)
5. You mean thermal grease? Really, Sandy Bridge doesn't care about that.

My eye is set only on the delux or the UD-7 , i like asus but i read the UD7 is also amazing. i will go on 2600k because i dont play only heavy games i also render videos.

Why i need to change the PSU? its new one.
Memory , if i would like to reach 5ghz , what type of memory i will need to buy?

That's a very stupid decision, no offense.

The UD7 and Deluxe are twice the price and will give you NOTHING that the UD3 and P8P67 will not.

Your PSU is 500w from a mildly poor manufacturer. I would say the max it's capable of is 34A. That's enough for a 2600k, and with a 260 you might still be fine although pushing it, but you have no upgrade path. Like I said, you should get a better GPU instead of a new computer.

Any memory will reach 5Ghz. It's not memory-dependent.

I think they do give extra things, but usually they are things nobody cares about/needs

Hey ,

I'm from israel and the difference between the deluxe and the UD7 is 50$ , also in the CPU is 50 $ which means there is no way to save money .

How about now?
