heres some tips off the top of my head.

1. improve your aim! find the best senstivity for you, and then try and shoot targets with the least amount of bullets possible. try Ak74U.
2. Jump around corners ( you need good aim for this). Jumping doesnt affect hipfire or ADS accuracy, it just makes you harder to shoot.
3. This isn't xbox, don't bother with quickscoping. get kills anyway you can. AK47 and 74U are preferred.
4. Look both ways before crossing the street. Don't rush out onto the road in a map, or anywhere open. Dart from cover to cover. the reason for this is that promod players have eagle eyes and good aim, and you can be spotted from a mile away and headshotted before you see them.
5. RUSH. Dont just camp and defend a area, rushing and being aware of the maps can improve your aim
More tips i can give you. I played CoD4 promod on CG for lots of competive teams, and put about 1000 hours into the promod section.

I must admit that I'm a pubber, but when playing COD, the most important thing is to advance slowly. I don't care if I die in a match if it means I can get a kill or two and it's always been what ruined my KDR. Advance slowly and watch your corners and you should make it. But remember that doing a suicide run can sometimes help your team. In objective based games, it can make all the difference. Also try taking the wrong routes once in a while, you'd be amazed how often you can run down the middle of the street in Crossfire without being detected.

Don't waist your time on Cod4. The competitive scene is dead.

Most of us and our CEVO P teams have left. What is left is not that great.

Thread Starter
So sick of pub matches in COD4 promod right now.

Had an idiot team mate who kept blocking me for his "awesome grenade spots", when I was trying out a well known spawn sniping spot. Next round he blows up the car it was on before I can go near it as if to say "**** off you're not having it."

A lot of them problems I have seem to be hitmarkers. I got numerous hitmarkers on 3 people, and when they ran off I went prone so they couldn't see me (I was in an elevated building), and they shot me (from the ground), through the floor maybe? and got a headshot on me...

Argh this game is tough.

Lol?

Doesn't seem that way.... Lots of Promod servers in US show up in my list (Im in NZ btw)

Also, AusCod has a massive competitive scene, cod4 being the best of all comp. CoD games. Black Ops competitive is a joke, seriously. Next to pub in respect given. Wait till the modding tools for Blops are released and then Promod. Then it will become more popular.

There are all kinds of ways to play the game. Some people rush, some snipe, some run and gun, some sight in for every shot. Personally, I like playing on "realism" servers. When you can't just lob random grenades over buildings or spray your machine gun from the hip and you have to use squad tactics in order to meet your objective, then you have a game. And the best part is that once you can maintain a 3+ : 1 KDR on a realism server, whenever you do go to a server without all the rules, you go like 40:1 and everyone accuses you of hacking.

main advice I can give you for promod is to get a good headset and listen

I forgot that there was a Free For all server that was promod and it really helped me get better. But you have to take into consideration that many of these people are on teams and play day in and day out. Just keep practicing.
Dam i gotta find that server again...
EDIT: I think i found it... Let me try it out first. 0_o
