Do you know the Lift off Distance with that KAI.G3 by any chance?

Edit:

Just revived mine and I'm honestly in LOVE with the coating used on top of the shell. It's pretty similar to the Xai/Kinzu but feels slightly more plasticy.

The sensor works perfectly fine and doesn't produce any apparent jitter or flaws. I would love to open this up to check if they switched the sensor (hopefully an Avago 3090? smile.gif), but I rather wait for my replacement feet to get here first.

Oh and to those that are wondering, this utilizes it's own firmware. V1.00 just like the drivers

Like the standard 3.5G, the feet are slightly too thin and the body digs into the surface. I'm also not too fond of the scroll wheel, but it's defiantly better than what I'm used to (IE: 1.1/3.0)

Overall I am VERY pleased with the Razer product. I honestly wish that they at least attempt to pump out more products without stupid glossy plastics and LEDs, but this is indeed a good start.

Pros:

-Sensor
-Body/coating

Cons:

- Scroll wheel
- Mouse feet too thin/bottom shell defect.
- High lift off distance on dark mousepads.

The lift off is higher on the KAI.g3. I'm not sure if that is because it is red.

I'm getting about 5mm (I don't have a setup that will keep the mouse totally level to measure with)

On my 9HD I'm getting about 3.25mm

Tested my EC2 on the KAI.g3 it gets about 1.2mm and on the 9HD 2mm.

We must know.

There is not really a reason to use the "rebranded S3888" and I'm pretty sure they would advertise that.

You don't have CDs/DVDs around?

Sorry to hear that they still refuse to fix the dragging problem. I happened on the 3G, the 3.5G and now the black edition. How hard is it to fix the mold or put some thicker mouse feet? Many of their customers including myself have complained to them about it for the last year or so but I guess it doesn't matter to them.

Most likely not, but I'm kinda annoyed that this mouse still uses the standard 3G/3.5G glossy base shell on the bottom/front of the mouse. I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to put up with the regular models due to this gulk flaw that apparently only happens on razer mice.

That's true, but I find it kind of silly that people are still bashing the 3.5G (S3888 DA) and praise the 3G (S3668 DA) even though both sensors have had thier fair share of problems and now operate correctly without a single flaw or glitch besides maybe the lift off issues noticeable on both mice. Now unless there's a serious quality control issue, that shouldn't be the case. I think it's just people holding on to what others are saying.

If I confirmed the BE is using a newer sensor (IE 3090) there would be no reason to state that the standard 3G model is still "superior".

Hurry up and find out and check if it has 450dpi and check for +/- accel on that dpi.

CS1.6
800x600
in game sens: 2
-no force commands
MarkC mouse fix.
100 FPS engine cap - negative acceleration over 2.25 m/s
450 DPI 1000hz

Sensor seems flawless. Produces negative acceleration swiping at unrelistic speeds, although, that will happen with any mouse due to the goldsrc engine utilizing WM_MOUSEMOVE over WM_INPUT.
CS source
800x600
In game sens: 2
raw input on / acceleration off.
450 DPI 1000hz

Sensor doesn't produce any positive or negative acceleration swiping at unrealistic speeds.

Most likely still a S3888. The standard 3.5G has been working properly since v2.41.. although I do find it strange that this utilizes it's own firmware. (v1.00)

Knowing Razer, they would go all out trying to advertise the extra 5G acceleration.
