Same thing could happen if your house got broke into and they stole all your stuff along with your dvd's, bluerays and games. Except with Steam, if you do ever get your account hacked - you send a notification to support and you WILL get your account back (they may take a few days sometimes but they always sort it out).
Recently my sisters house got broken into just literally 3 weeks ago. Her husband doesn't really play PC games but they stole his PS3 and his whole collection of 30 odd games. In cases of house break-ins, the police can only do so much but 99% of the time the stuff that is stolen is never seen again.
Stop obsessing over physical copies it's not like you're going to sit every weekend licking the cases of your games. I used to use the same excuse too up until recently. I used to say to all my friends that i much preferred physical copies of games when truthfully
i didn't really have a valid reason why - only that looking at the collection of all my games lined up in their cases made me feel good..... (which i
about now thinking back).
Then Modern Warfare 2 came out, and being a big fan of cod 4 and all the hype of it at the time i wanted the game so badly. So i got it and although it was a disappointment i was introduced to Steam. Over time i familiarized myself with all its features and it lead me to realize how awesome Steam is.... and i can still look over my collection of games in that OCD/obsessive way as everything is all in one place, never getting lost, never deteriorating (cd scratches etc) and all available to me at the ease of a click of a button.Edited by Laten - 2/1/11 at 7:55am
