6+2 Wire Removal

Thread Starter
I have searched high and low and can't find an answer for this. I am single sleeving my AX1200, the last cables I need to do are the PCI-E cables. The GPU's that I am using only require a 8-pin and a 6-pin. So here's my question: Can I just remove the +2 wires on that cable and leave it as a 6 wire coming from the PSU? I can always add them back later on if I had a card that needed 2x8-pin cables. Suggestions, comments... Thanks!

Of course you can. Just make sure you do something with the ends so do you don't cause a short.

Awesome, yeah there won't be any ends because I am removing the entire wire. The plug coming out of the PSU would have 8 spots, but only 6 wires.
