I went from a 5870 to 8800GGTS (temporarily) and it runs BC2 1080p maxed out (apart from AA)

^NO.

8800 Ultra is like a GTS 250 (About the same performance level), you will not get the HD 4870 performance level. Also, this card is VERY old, noisy, and has terrible thermal performance...

not really maybe once or twice a month

Why not sell the PS2 and put the cash towards a fermi?
it is heavily modded with damaged components he wants it for the parts

no it beats a GTS 250 by like 3-10 FPS

there is no way a damaged PS2 will ever get 300 dollars not even when they first came out

Ultra is a piece of history. Worth keeping around.
an Ultra trades blows with a 4850 so a 4870 and a 5770 will destroy it......the thing is that the 4850 can be overclocked to a better performance than the Ultra can......an Ultra is faster than the 8800GTS 512/GTS250 after 1440x900......handles AA better too because of the 384bit bus.......it is not noisy unless the cooler is packed with dust but runs hot even when it's clean ........good all around card even by today's standards

lol no it isn't.
More like a 4850 at stock.

Dude, sell your PS2 and games and you can probably get a way better card then an 8800ultra.

Also, all he did was run Halo1... That can be run on integrated intel graphics. If you actually do the trade make sure the card can run some newer/advanced games to stress it a bit and make sure there isn't anything wrong with it.

I don't think it is a good trade and I would try to go for a newer card, possibly even getting one used in the OCN marketplace.

Hell, I gave my PS2 and a bunch of games away to my g/f's brother's family a couple weeks ago. So yeah, I'd do it. It's not that much faster than a 8800GT (in fact I'd rather use that for physX), but I'd do it just to have an Ultra. Worst case, I'm sure you could sell it for more than a damaged PS2 is worth

Yep, same here except 1980 x 1200 (maybe not EVERY setting maxed but I put most everything to highest it could go) runs fine.

It does run warm though...

If it is a damaged PS2 I agree...

But if it is an old PS2 that still works... nah dawg, I think he could get more money for that PS2 on ebay then he would for the ultra.
