New AMD build

Thread Starter
Hello everyone, would like to start by saying this is my FIRST ever build by myself. I was reading into the Sandy Bridge but due to the unforseen circumstances and what happened yesterday I will go for the bang for $$$ theory. Anyway I dont know a whole lot as I have been out of the loop for quite some time and this is the first forum I have joined. My current budget is somewhere around 1100-1300, 1500 is max but I also need a new 23-24" Monitor. I just want a great gaming rig that can run anything out now and in the future. I know you cannot get too future proof. But anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. I do plan on overclocking.kungfu.gifbiggrin.gif

This is what im leaning towards but cannot decide on cpu/mobo.

Right now you are just looking at the quad cores or six core CPUs (Phenom II). Bulldozer is still on the horizon.

Hello Megatron12 - you are in the right place and this forum is awesome!

With that said I have to say few words and please don't take this personally - this is for your own benefit:

Asking for gaming PC build with a few vague details such as AMD platform and a budget number is not the way to do it! YOU need to invest a little time and research if you want good advice. Sure anyone can get on newegg and put a PC together but is this what you want!!!!
Also people in general will help if there is a specific question. If you are asking me to spend more than 10 minutes on researching your build - sorry it is not happening (you can see that by the low number of responses so far).

So, put some effort into your build and the results will be amasing. (crap in crap out....right?)

Good luck with the build!

PS
One more thing - the recent issue with Intel chipsets has nothing to do with Sandy Bridge CPUs. Chipsets are motherboard components. Intel has stoped the production and by March you should be able to get the mobo chipsets without issues. If you have money go for i5-2500K chip!!!!!

It looks good. You might want bigger PSU (750W) if you are planning on 2 video cards in Crossfire.

Wait for a few more post as I am not the guru/allknowing/guru!
