Look at the ram speed on that set (1066mhz vs the 1600mhz). That would be a big waste of money just to have a matched set.

i thought i had the filter set to 1600mhz ram only my bad! so scratch that!

I remember 3 years ago, I noticed Crysis was taking me up to 3.5GB on Vista.

So, I bought 8GB. I never did get over 4GB.

It's quite sad that more demanding games haven't been coming out for years.

But unless you're doing something that requires 16GB (like me), and you would KNOW if you did..

Don't get more than 6GB.

Glad we caught onto it. smile.gif

You know when you'll need more than the amount of RAM you have. How, you may ask. Well, when your task manager of choice (depending on what OS you're running) shows your at your ceiling (max RAM usage), and you're regularly there for hours at a time every day, then upgrade your RAM. I reached my previous system's RAM ceiling, for the sole fact that I run a couple of VMs at a time. Now, with my new system, I'll have 6GB instead of 4GB so I should be okay. smile.gif

Hey Cuban,

I'll also be running some VM's for my MCITP certs (Win server 2008).. So would 16 gigs apply to that situation...... Don't know if the sig will come out right but, so far I have the i7 2600k, P8P67 Deluxe and plan on using Win 7 Ultimate as the host OS, and loading up Win Server 2008 with at least two more vm's to be flexible for the scenerios....

I also do alot of FPS gaming... Vm's kill ram so I'm kinda stuck on deciding
