hmmm... I voted Will get my mobo fixxed asap...

I will most likely have asus do an advanced exchange... heck my wd hdd keep failing... thats life... things break... don't like it don't buy it...

I WILL RMA the board... Its as easy as swapping it out and swapping the new one in... not hard at all... Do I care that its a broke board... NO! I've already seen controller issues in windows and was scratching my head... I am using all 2.0 ports... not the top ones... I should have taken a screeny but I reinstalled the OS thinking it was a driver issue... as soon as I see it again I will take a screeny and post... it was 2 errors in windows logs... woopie... which were just controller errors...

Like I said I will replace and move on with life... none of my data is hanging in the balance so why should I care...

edit: Some people were noteing downtime... thats why I have 7 systems in the house and my laptop... not going to affect me much in downtime... or I'll swap the old phenom board and processor back in... fixxed

it said sata ports 1 and 2 are fine. so if you just have 1 dvd drive and 1 hard drive your fine. if you need 3+ you have to send it back

Seeing as how it won't affect me, I could say I don't care. At the same time, I wouldn't buy something I know is defective or will become defective prematurely.

None of the above? I honestly think it is a non issue. There simply was not enough boards being sold to become issue. Most of the problem with money goes to the fact that most laptops and prebuilts need a recall, vast majority of them have not sold.

But to answer your question, I would call the manufacture of my motherboard, about getting inline for a replacement. If I need it, I would get a sandy bridge in the future. The only reason to through a fit now is if you have too much free time.

But I need 6+ cores so I will not buy a sandy bridge. If I did own one I would get inline now. It is not like the pc read the news and explodes.

Does this shake my opinion of intel? That is the question. Lets see here, intel starts to get complaints from consumers, intel listens to consumers, and makes a fix, about a month after the release.

If it was microsoft, they would call it a feature.

If it was apple, they would ignore it.

If it was nvidia, they would blame the user.

If it was ati, they would blame the part supplier.

If it was amd, they would ask what is a chipset again? ( That was a joke)

Even occupying my SATA 6Gbps and 3Gbps, I really don't care. When the time comes I'll RMA for a replacement and it'll be good as gold. The issue isn't instantaneous so I really have nothing to worry about.

I have a NAS.

So, I only use the SATA III ports.

Doesn't affect me.

But I didn't know you could get it fixed. Interesting.

I figure i will upgrade again in a years time so....

But for people who upgrade every 12-16 months like me, you may want to get the board replaced for resell value if nothing else.
