Every new platform you jump in to will have some type of issues (why is everyone so surprised?)sure it's a bummer for all the folks that need sata II but for me and a lot of others that don't need it,no big deal,I'm only using 3x 6gb and have one open port
The only thing that i don't like is to have MB with "Design Flaw" witch is the reason for a free replacement down the road..no big deal again,as for right now i'm enjoying my sweet new build

come on now, it's mb swap

You need a third option on the poll. I'll get it fixed if it's an easy enough process.

Option 3: I will use my board and replace it only if an advance replacement is sent so there is no downtime aside from installation.

I am affected by it and my SATA ports have been acting funky; dunno if it's a BIOS or controller issue. But none the less I use 4 ports. Add-on cards are A. expensive or b. cheap and literal chinese/taiwanese garbage not worth bothering with.

The 1366 passes the test.

I sometimes feel sorry for it, how much punishment I have given it. Bends and folds and never breaks.

Old, cheap Sandy Bridge parts will make some nice bench setups down the road though, I can see that. The chipset recall will taint the chip's reputation regardless. The OEM money alone will be brutal.

I don't see how the reputation of how high sandybridge overclocks will be tainted? This defect doesn't affect overclocking or the general performance of the CPU itself.

True, ~we~may know this, but for the person who just heard about it on CNN and with the mainstream exposure of the problem, it's a case of the damage already being done. All the OEM's have to deal with this too, that's where the real nightmare is taking place. At least it's early.

I plan to RMA when they become available. I sold all my old parts to build a new SB system so ill just use it as long as i can then RMA. QQ though, can you use SATA3.0 on SATA6.0 slots? If so then its even less of a problem until the boards are avaliable.
