Why don't you just suicide them both and fold bigadv at like 4.8 GHz or 5 on air and see how tough it is. Then recall saying the board broke your chip, then you get 2nd revision on the chip and the board..?

"How many of you actually, really don't care about the chipset defect?"

I CARE! I was going to buy Sandybridge CPU/MOBO and now I have to wait till God knows when Intel finally ships these out to Newegg. Hell I'd even buy a "defective" board just so I can get rid of my crappy 1.6 Ghz dual core laptop. Ahhhh!!!! *rages*

Amazon still has many Core i5/i7's in their listings along with P67 boards. Maybe if you can catch them before they're removed you could get one.

I feel like, if I'm part of the 5% who's fail, that in 2 or 3 years I really won't care about my mobo and will hope it dies so I can upgrade it.

It's mostly the SB haters hyping this up way beyond what it is.

And if your SATA ports fail tomorrow, next week, or a month from now?

I see so many people say stuff like this, and I don't get it... why does your old hardware have to die for you to justify an upgrade? Why can't you just upgrade your old working hardware. I was able to take my old parts, and find an old PSU, case, and bought a Blu-Ray drive to turn it into a nice HTPC... whereas if the parts were dead I would have nothing.

I really am gonna have to do something. I have 8 drives, on a max possible non-faulty 4 ports.
