Vista Problem with New Build...

Thread Starter
Hi Everyone,

Was putting together my new build. Basically moving from GigaByte UD3P-EP45 to an EVGA 750.

Put everything, fired up the computer and it started loading. Got to the Vista loading progress screen and then the screen goes blue for a really really quick second and then restarts again.

Any low hanging fruit on troubleshooting this? I didn't see anything in the CMOS that looked odd.

Ensure that your Heatsink is SECURELY MOUNTED, this has always caused me a lot of freaking problems, grab it and turn it, if it moves a bit, tighten it down!

Did you delete all of your old partitions and reformat your hard drive?
(Boot sector viruses are not uncommon)

Lastly you could have a rootkit, these are very nasty lil buggers!

Other than that I NEED AN ERROR CODE FROM THE BSOD, if you got one..

Ensure that hard drive is in fact working properly, and last but not least, re-seat your RAM & run a Memtest 4.0 on your RAM to ensure it's GOOD!
