Popin caps gtx 275 - Page 4

ok it says that both resistors were going to the current balancing circut. it shows both of the pins with a line going to a big box of the current balancing circut? i think it comes thru here now that im looking at i again. i know its damn near impossible to see the point in this pic.

the chip is listed in the vmod list with gtx 275 beside it. that point was between 2 resistors that were connected to pins 27 and 28. each pin has 2 resitors b4 it gets to that point. im not really worried about were to mod to now more so what that point did. could i run a small jumper wire from the "current balancing area" bridge the 2 ends together with the jumper wire and mod to that point aswell?????

please forgive my newbishness if i sound like a total tool. i wanna learn!

ok so i soldered on the new caps i got today. big guys are were the stock ones were. smaller caps are stacked on top of the little ceramic dudes. stock ones were 560s i thought i had bought 560s and 680s but it got 560s and 820s,oh well. i think i might get some liquid electrical tape and get rid of the eraser, althoug i dont think they will ground out on the bodys the way they sit. im not going to power the card on even at stock voltage until i found out whats up with that solder point that is now MIA.

not perfect but i can still get the heatsink on over em......barely. i might put more of those 820s on the back or would that be over kill?

Thnxs a ton pizzman. i have yet to power the card on. should it be ok with out that point there????? i guess it cant overvolt itself with the ocp there.

it kinda seemed like there was a trace that ran the end of all those resistors together and that part of it might be gone now....

at what point does th ocp kick in?

BTW i feel alot better since you said that you moded yours in a dif spot, because after reading the manual on the voltage control chip i was a lil confused on why that point was used and not the feed back. could i risk anything powering it on without that point there? i just wanna get it in the o.s. and test it at stock volts first to make sure everything is fine and dandy

its pretty much all or nothing as far as that trace goes it wont fire up if you damaged a important trace. Check the voltage of the card when you power it on pretty sure dead card will give no reading. If ocp kicks in it will read .003 or so. Me thinks

OCP kicked in on me before I ever did the vGPU mod. You can also pencil the OCP resistor to. If I remember right, I brought OCP down to ~100KOhms.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about that little pad being missing.

wooohooo! its running heaven bench ATM. so im gonna pull it back out solder 4 more 820/4 caps on the back and put my pot back on it and let er rip. thnx for the help guys.

so the ocp kicks in when there is too much core voltage right???? im gonna take it back up to 1.35 but what is the max most people would suggest on water with the other parts of the card being stock other than caps?
