Yup..pencil it.. measure with a DMM to confirm the reading then cover it with a small piece of tape..should be fine.

Q- what kind of mem IC's that gpu have? Samsung or Quimonda? Sammies will like about 2.1v as a max and the Quimonda will run best at stock volts or lower.

Ok now I'm a little confused. That resistor reads 26.8k. With a 100k it would be increasing the resistance. Taking a pencil to it would lower it right?

Ram chips are samsung.

I have a 100k pot and a 56k resistor I can stack. I'm down for using a pencil to I'm just confused on the resistance ATM.

No, resistance will always be lowered if you solder another resistor in parallel.
Using a 100k VR at maximal resistance results in ~21.1k Ohm at the 26.8k resistor.

Ok, so in parallel it would lower resistance and in series it would increase. The resistor that you marked for me to solder over for the OCP read 26.8k ohms. If you said you ended up with 100k on your pot I could just pencil and ohm the resistor until I see 21-22 ohms.


Edit: ok I read that link. RT=R1*R2/(R1+R1). Capacitors do somthing similar to this when in series??

Is that the resistance between it and ground? Should be more like 200K at default setting.

Ok I don't know if it was a low batt in my DMM or if I was just too tired last night. I ohmd it again and it reads 196k. So a 200k with a 100k on top of it should come out around 66.66k right?

I don't know how I ****** that reading I even checked resistors around it looking for that 26k and can't find it now lol

well its in and running. i used a 100k pot and 56k resistor for the ocp. gave me a total of 163k. its up and running ATM flying through heaven at the clocks listed in my sig. but now it only takes 1.33 load voltage were b4 it was 1.35. i also noticed as i was creeping the clocks up it seems to want less voltage all around per clock than b4, i assume this is from the stable "cleaner" voltage. i have to be honest tho, everytime i fire up a 3d app and bump the clocks i cringe waiting for smoke to come hurling out of mah case lol. its all good tho, i went over the hole card with a magnifying glass b4 powering it on.

im not going to mess with it much more tonight. i have the whole afternoon free tomorow and im gonna try to hit 1 ghz on it,even if it is a just a glory clock or bench.

does anyone really know the limitations of the rest of the components? i saw somewere a guy did 1.6 but it was on ln2 and a non ref card.

that diamond TIM is the shiznit. b4 at these clocks i was getting 47c load. now im only at 40-41.



going to get some liquid Etape soon to cover/glue these dudes on.

i wanna do a ram overvolt next. i want to try to figure it out myself tho and than post im theory and have you guys check it.
