Popin caps gtx 275 - Page 9

Cool, I have no idea what the difference is between OCP and VGPU though. Totally new to this area of OCing.

So can I just pencil shade that resistor for the OCP mod or do you have to put the resistors on?

You can shade for OCP..and that is the only mod you should need on air cooling

*unless you crave more mem speeds..you can mod for vmem too.

mem speeds are pretty good for me actually, ok so i'm going to shade right now!!

measure->shade->measure->shade

Once you have it where you want it.. put a small piece of tape over the penciled area.

If you shade to much, rub your finger over it to remove a little.

ok...so i got a wild hair up my arse and wanted to see how fast my card could REALLY go. soooo for the first time in my exp i decided to play with dry ice. i didint really do any research b4 hand and learned alot in the processes. 99% alcohol with a 8lb chunk of dice. my pump had a hard time pumping syrup and the fact that the alcohol became carbonated lol

i know i know. my insulation was more than poor BUT i only did this for about an hour and half once it was running just to get some numbers, All hardware survived aswell as me and my pets. i have heard some say not to play with dice in doors but i had plent of ventialtion and plants at floor level . anyway idle temps were -28c and load was -15c. i was less than impressed with the clocks i got. i currently run 800/1800 on water since the cap mod. i only got up to 820/1900 stable and i played with all kind of voltage settings it would just keep goint to solid color screens, not the ocp as the core still read voltage. does this sound normal to you guys. i really think somthing may be off with my card....

oh and BTW. just like the nice street mannered lady at the grocery said......."****s code" and no i didint spell "code" wrong.

I'm not familiar with those terms. My guess would be slush bucket. I just dropped the chunk of dice in the cooler and poured 99%rubbing alcohol over it. It was fun! I will prolly do it again sometime but with a dif method and a did pump.

Ok guys what ths hell could be causing my solid color screed stability? I was playing dead space 2 last night with ICE WATER going over my vid card, 10 idle 15 load. It was still crashing even at 750/1726, these are pretty low clocks for a volt mod'ed water-cooled card.. So my only guess is that it could be, a bad cap? I can see no bulging. Is it possible to have to much capacitance in one area? My last thought is that trace I ripped of was somthing important.
This card is driving me nuts now!!!

Help plz

Sounds like your still having some sort of OVP/OCP issue to me.. Solid color with GPUv still present you said? What voltage exists once the screen goes solid? Have you tried to isolate the issue to the core or mem clocks yet?

*start at the pcie input and measure voltage at idle and load.. then list below. Do the same for voltage at the inductors and again at the back of the core or from the output caps.

PCI-E input voltage = ?
Inductor input = ?
GPUv output at caps = ?
GPUv output at back of core =?

...try to do the same for vmem too. This will help show us if the issue is voltage problem or not.
